April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4, 1995) started her musical journey at the age of 7 when she took guitar and piano classes. At the age of seven April started taking piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her interest in writing songs. At 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing songs and honed her musicianship ability. She began writing with her dad at home in NY and LA shortly after. April included other subjects in her song, Take my Hand. These topics included topics for her friends who dealt with issues such as peer pressure issues or even teenage suicide thinking. Lockhart collaborates with popular cosmetics brand Ilia and also is a lifestyle blogger who has a growing fan base. It's true that she was born without a left hand. This is what makes her different. But this isn't the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap on her Instagram account, but she isn't making it the focal point of her story. The message? This is the message that we all share multiple identities and are more complex than we think we're. Lockhart in a video message sent from her Nashville home, says I don't want my physical appearance to define me. I'm much more than my physical self. It doesn't impact my daily life. I conduct doing my job as normal and have come up with my own ways to adapt. It's also part of me and I feel that it's crucial to speak about. Lockhart is a true source of inspiration for self-acceptance in general and is currently on a lengthy process to attain it. However, she admits having moments of feeling uneasy about her appearance, and the clothes that showed her arms. The woman now puts on whatever clothes she wants and posts pictures on her Facebook page with pride. The key to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a destination. It's true for all, no matter what their level of insecurity. I believe having friends with you who understand you and can see your feelings is crucial as they'll be the ones who will remind you what you concerned about?
