Laura Linney has been hailed as one of America's top popular actors. Her fame is for her strong character who are as at risk. Her father was a celebrated playwright. However, Linney was raised as a single child by a single mom who was a nurse. In the summer, while with her dad Linney was able to develop a passion for theater. She eventually studied acting first in Brown University then at Juilliard School. In just two short years following graduation, she launched her Broadway-based career. In the following year, she made her first appearance in film and television. In the years since, she's been in many films, TV productions and stage shows. Through her entire career, she's won many awards, which include 2 Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. The actress has received nominations for five Tony Awards, and three Oscar Awards nominations. However, despite her distinctions and awards, theater is her main interest and she is determined to play on stage and screen.
