Actor Katherine Heigl is opening herself about her experience of being born into an environment that was a "white bubble" and how that realization has affected how she raises her multiracial adopted children. She was in the movie "Firefly Lane" told the media that it didn't matter what color her skin was to her. After meeting her Korean-American adopted older sister, she realised the distinction in how people took care of her. "I inquired of my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd been treated one way while going out with us parents, and another way when she was out by herself without them. Meg replied "Oh, yes, every occasion!" That made me realize that I was so ignorant," Heigl said to Parents. According to the actor she was furious. She wanted to channel that anger towards aiding her adopted daughters. Heigl along with her long-time husband -- the singer Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. Their child Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009. Adalaide is an Black 8-year-old girl who was adopted by the couple in 2012.
