Jenna Fischer was best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on TV. Her role on The Office brought her an Emmy nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category. She also won two SAG Awards, both for outstanding performances by an ensemble cast in a comedy.
In Fort Wayne Indiana, she was raised living in St. Louis Missouri. Jenna grew up watching her mother Anne who was a church performer. The experience instilled an interest in theater.
An actress trained in theater, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. She starred in the Off-Broadway show Reasons to be Happy, written and directed by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, as well as Fred Weller. After starring in Steve Martin's latest play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy co-written by Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she performed in the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office's Angela Kinsey (the cast mate of Fischer) and her best friend in real life Angela Kinsey, who is from The Office, started a podcast back in October. The show was called Office Ladies. The show has grown in popularity and has been a part of the Top Ten every single week. Its debut year, the show received more than 200,000,000 downloads. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year in January 2021.
She is the author of two books, The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide In it, she recounts her experience through St. Louis to Hollywood and her journey to becoming a successful actress, and the forthcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two of the Best Friends That Were There (co-authored with Angela Kinsey), which is the story of their greatest friendship and time working on The Office.
